José Salazar Makes Debut with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra

Recently named a Classic FM Rising Star and appointed a Dudamel Fellow with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, conductor José Salazar now makes his debut with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra.
Originally from Margarita Island, Salazar returns to his home country for this significant milestone, taking to the podium at the orchestra’s home venue, the Centro Nacional de Acción Social por la Música in Caracas, Venezuela.
The Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra stands as the flagship ensemble of El Sistema, Venezuela’s renowned music education programme. El Sistema continues to empower generations of young musicians through free, high-quality music training, and served as the foundation for Salazar’s own musical journey.
The concert on Saturday 12 April, features a vibrant programme including Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances, Martinů’s Oboe Concerto, with French soloist Frédéric Tardy, and concludes with Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet Suite.
