Karl-Heinz Steffens Makes His Aarhus Symphony Orchestra Debut
After opening the new year with Sweden’s Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, German conductor Karl-Heinz Steffens is now in Denmark for his debut with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra.
Performing today and tomorrow at Musikhuset Aarhus, Steffens leads a programme of Weber: Overture to Der Freischütz, Beethoven: Concerto for violin, cello and piano and Mendelssohn: 3rd Symphony, “The Scottish”. Joining him are three of Denmark’s talented young soloists – violin: Anna Agafia, cello: Jonathan Swensen, and piano: Gustav Piekut.
Next week, Steffens returns home to Berlin to work on a programme of Schumann, Elgar, and Debussy with students of the Universität der Künste (UdK), in preparation for a concert on the 7th February.
