This week pianist Benjamin Grosvenor heads East on a two-week tour taking him to Dubai, China, Japan, and Taiwan. With a programme comprising Mussorgsky’s celebrated ‘Pictures at an exhibition’, Ravel’s extraordinary ‘Gaspard de la nuit’, and Brahms’ Three Intermezzi, Op. 117, Grosvenor makes appearances at Dubai Opera, Shanghai Symphony Hall, Muza Kawasaki – where he makes his debut – and the National Concert Hall in Taipei, amongst others.

Having just returned from a successful five-week tour of the US and Canada – culminating with Grieg’s Piano Concerto with Boston Symphony Orchestra and conductor Andris Nelsons – Grosvenor closes 2024 and sees in the New Year with Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and conductor Roderick Cox for Gershwin’s ‘Rhapsody in Blue’, which this year celebrated its one-hundredth anniversary with a special re-issue of Grosvenor’s 2012 recording alongside a special limited edition blue vinyl.
