Christopher Moulds and Opéra national du Rhin have been receiving acclaim for the new production of Handel’s Ariodante directed by Dutch director Jetske Mijnssen. Renowned for his mastery of Baroque music, Moulds leads the production from November 6 to December 1, with performances at Opéra du Rhin in Strasbourg, Théâtre Municipal in Colmar, and Opéra de Mulhouse – La Sinne.
The next performances will be in Mulhouse on November 22, 24 and Colmar on December 1.

Moulds shares his passion for Handel’s music in an interview on YouTube.

Mulhouse Symphony Orchestra, whose repertoire is not, however, baroque, reveals itself to be expressive at all times (admirable oboe and bassoon), guided, it is true, by a Christopher Moulds with triumphant musicality, always letting Handel’s lines breathe.” – Les Echoes Philippe Venturini

…the British conductor does not feel the need to stretch the tempos or to rush them, and his balanced reading makes the removal of all the ballets more acceptable. He is all the more to be congratulated if it is to him that we must attribute the inventiveness with which the reprises of the arias are decorated.“- Concert Classic Laurent Bury

His dynamic, lively but subtle direction and perfect rhythmic precision ensures the authenticity and progress of the show but does not fail to hold back for the more interior moments. A complete success.” – ResMusica Michel Thomé
