Alpesh Chauhan debuts in Detroit
This evening British conductor Alpesh Chauhan makes his debut with Detroit Symphony Orchestra . Chauhan takes to the podium for an Odyssean programme including Holst’s ‘The Planets’ and Colin Matthew’s ‘Pluto, the Renewer’ alongside Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1, for which he and the orchestra are joined by cellist Johannes Moser.
Later this month Chauhan takes the Holst and Matthews to the Barbican Hall with Guildhall Symphony Orchestra and during his 24/25 season he looks forward to other guest appearances with the BBC Philharmonic (Strauss ‘Ein Heldenleben’), City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (Beethoven Symphony No. 6), and Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (Elgar Symphony No. 1).
