Tonight, British conductor Tess Jackson makes her first appearance on the podium for Bernstein’s ‘West Side Story‘ at Volksoper Wien. Jackson was Musical Assistant in the 2023/24 season, during which she made her conducting debut at the House with performances of John Kander’s ‘Cabaret’. With direction by Lotte de Beer, this captivating production of ‘West Side Story’ runs for ten performances, closing on 6th December.

Other operatic highlights of Jackson’s 2024/25 season include assisting Maestro Enrique Mazzola on ‘Fidelio’ at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and her debut at the English National Opera with ‘The Marriage of Figaro‘ in February 2025.
