Following on from the success of her Lammermuir Festival performances which included an Ives recital with Jeremy Denk, performances with the Valo Quartet, and Schumann’s Violin Concerto with the Royal Northern Sinfonia, violinist Maria Włoszczowska returns to Kronberg to work with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe (COE). Originally due to perform as leader with direction from Sir Andras Schiff, Maria is stepping in as director/soloist following the unfortunate news of Schiff’s leg injury.

Maria will direct four COE performances at the Casals Forum as part of the Kronberg Festival between the 28-29 September. The revised programme includes works such as Haydn’s Symphony No. 88 in G major and Piano concerto No. 11 in D major (soloist Martina Consonni) Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major (soloist Kirill Gerstein), Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor and Violin Concerto No. 2 in E major, where she is also the soloist.

In addition to her work with the COE, the 2024/25 season will see Maria feature as soloist and director with the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and the Amsterdam Sinfonietta aside from many varied projects with the Royal Northern Sinfonia.
