Francesca Dego takes Busoni’s Violin Concerto to the Ascona Festival
This evening, violinist Francesca Dego takes Busoni’s dazzlingly virtuosic Violin Concerto to the Settimane Musicali di Ascona. For this, the centrepiece of the programme, Dego joins the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana and conductor Jader Bignamini. In March 2024, her recording of the work with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and conductor Dalia Stasevska, a familiar collaborator of Dego, was released on the Chandos record label.
Later this autumn Dego looks forward to her concert debut with the LSO with Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, and three consecutive performances of Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with Dallas Symphony Orchestra and conductor Fabio Luisi.
