2023 winner of Garsington Opera’s Leonard Ingrams Award, British conductor Tess Jackson returns to Garsington to join the line up for a Gala Concert as the company looks back at some of the most memorable moments of the season. Included in the programme are selections from Smetana’s The Bartered Bride on which Tess assisted Jac van Steen. Her acclaimed jump-in led to the invitation to make her symphonic debut with the Philharmonia Orchestra next season. Now no stranger to the operatic podium, this season has seen her conducting debut at the Volksoper Wien for performances of John Kander’s ‘Cabaret’ and next season’s highlights include assisting Enrique Mazzola on ‘Fidelio’ at the Lyric Opera Chicago, and her debut at the English National Opera with ‘The Marriage of Figaro’. On 10th August, Tess makes her BBC Proms debut with the National Youth Orchestra in the world premiere of Dani Howard’s ‘new work’
