Benjamin Grosvenor at Klavier-Festival Ruhr
Bringing his 2023/24 season to a close, British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor performs at the Klavier-Festival Ruhr this evening. In a welcome return to the prestigious Festival, Grosvenor takes to the piano at the Stadthalle Mulheim with Brahms’ Intermezzi, Op.117 and the B minor sonatas of both Chopin and Liszt, of which he is a celebrated exponent.
This season has included notable solo recitals including in Chicago, Paris, Lucerne, Cologne, Hong Kong, and London as well as Grosvenor’s DSO Berlin debut at the Berlin Philharmonie with Busoni’s Piano Concerto, described as “monumental and brilliant” (Tagesspiegel). With the same concerto and in the composer’s anniversary year, later this summer on 5th August Grosvenor looks forward to returning to the stage of the Royal Albert Hall, alongside the London Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Edward Gardner, at the 2024 BBC Proms.
