Juho’s new solo album Rameau & Scriabin: Visionaries of the Keyboard with Orchid Classics has been released today. The album includes Rameau’s Nouvelles suites de pièces de clavecin and two of Scriabin’s Piano Sonatas, No. 6 and 7.

“In the grand narrative of musical history, Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764) and Alexander Scriabin (1872-1915) may appear as distant stars in the firmament, separated by centuries and cultural boundaries. Rameau, a luminary of the French Baroque, and Scriabin, a Russian visionary heralding the onset of Modernism, navigated distinct artistic realms. Yet beneath the surface of their contrasting styles, a closer look reveals striking affinities – an aligned artistic vision to venture beyond harmonic conventions, charting unexplored soundscapes through tonal experimentation.” Juho’s further thoughts on the programme are in the booklet notes.

It is available on all streaming platforms.

Juho was also featured on a newly released BIS album with Christian Poltéra: ‘Poltéra Plays Prokofiev’ which was released last Friday. The album features Juho and Poltéra performing Prokofiev’s Cello Sonata in C Major.
