Hyeyoon Park’s Prokofiev in Stuttgart
Hyeyoon Park kick-starts the new year performing Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with the Stuttgart Philharmonic and conductor Andrey Boreyko, who jumps in to replace an indisposed Dan Ettinger. In her much-anticipated return to the orchestra, Hyeyoon looks forward to performing this remarkable score, which combines skeptical lyricism and defiant virtuosity. After three consecutive performances, she will conclude the week in a ‘Night Owls’ concert presented by the notable Bix Jazz Club in association with the Stuttgart Philharmonic, where Prokofiev gives way to celebrated numbers from the golden age of Broadway.
Following a fantastic year for the rising star in 2023, which included several critically acclaimed collaborations with the Hallé Orchestra and Royal Northern Sinfonia, and appearances in Laeiszhalle Hamburg and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, this start to 2024 promises great things ahead including her forthcoming return tour to South Africa this Spring with Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto.
Toi toi toi Hyeyoon!
